Warriors’ Cup: the competition started by the fallen Hero scaled up in the Lviv region

The organizers of the competition are the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Oblast and the public organization “Nezlamnyi Sports Association of War Veterans”.

On Sunday, October 22, the 3rd Warriors’ Cup took place in Lviv Oblast within the framework of the “League of the Invincibles” project. More than fifty soldiers and veterans took part in the competition. The competition was held at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center – a powerful sports facility in the Sambir Region that is accessible to people with various health disorders.

“Such competitions in 2021 were initiated by Dmytro Sydoruk, defender of the Luhansk airport, prize-winner of the International Invincible Games, archery coach. Previously, the competition included only archery. Together with the veteran environment, with those with whom Dmytro trained, they decided to continue this tradition. But on a much larger scale, competitions in various disciplines of athletics and table tennis have been added to the program of classes,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA.

It should be noted that the dates of the competition were not chosen by chance – on these days, the rehabilitation and sports meetings of the national team that represented Ukraine at the international “Invincible Games” in Dusseldorf are taking place at the base. In this way, those who are just starting their journey in adaptive sports had the opportunity to communicate and exchange experience with those who are already winning the awards of world veteran competitions. On Saturday, we will remind, the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi met with military personnel and veterans.

The partners of the competition were the charitable foundation “Return Alive” and the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center.
