The stage of the European cadet cycle of epee fencing took place in Bratislava. Athletes from 32 countries of the world became its participants.
11 fencers represented Lviv Oblast at the competition. Three of them made it to the top five.
Anna Maksimenko, a pupil of the Lviv Fencing Academy, won the championship. She started in the group, winning six fights. In the 1/64 final, the athlete defeated four opponents. And already in the final, she won gold in a match against an American woman.
It should be noted that Anna Maksimenko is the current bronze medalist of the Junior World Championship and the European Cadet Championship. The woman from Lviv won the second gold medal in a row at the competition in Bratislava.
