32-year-old rower Vitaly Vergeles won a bronze medal at the World Championships in kayaking and canoeing, held these days in Canada.
He competed in the canoe foursome at a distance of 500 meters together with representatives of Volyn Andriy Rybachk and Yuriy Vandyuk and athlete from Poltava Region Taras Mishchuk. In the final, Ukrainian athletes showed the third result.
Vitaly Vergeles – Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine. The athlete trains at the Lviv School of Higher Sports Excellence. His mentors are Roman Bundz and Andriy Maslyuk.
Anastasia Horlova from Lviv also performed successfully as part of the national team. 27-year-old Anastasia is a master of sports of Ukraine of international class. She is coached by Roman Bundz and Oleksandr Horlov.
In total, the national team of Ukraine won 5 awards at the championship. Very soon, the athletes will also represent Ukraine at the European Championship, which will be held in Germany.
