From January 31 to February 2, Lviv region became the venue for the Youth Championship of Ukraine in Athletics, held at the high-class training and sports base for summer sports of MOU. Over 600 young athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv participated in this event.
The sporting pride of Lviv region announced itself loudly, claiming fourth place in the overall team standings. Local athletes brought home five significant awards:
- Triple gold of Khrystyna Lotos in various disciplines, including long jump and short distance hurdling.
- Gold in relay race, where our team consisted of prominent athletes such as Yulia Yermak and Anastasia Hudyma.
- Silver by Vitaliy Hayduchok in the triple jump.
The head of the Department of Youth and Sports of Lviv Regional State Administration, Roman Khimyak, emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Athletics Federation, which positively affects the sports successes of the region. Lviv region is already recognized as one of the leading regions in sports achievements at the national level in Ukraine.
