The cyclist from Lviv won two medals of the European Championship

Yesterday, August 16, 26-year-old Olena Starikova won the bronze medal at the European Cycling Championship in Munich.

The woman from Lviv finished third in the keirin race. German Leia Friedrich won the first distance, Poland’s Ursula Los finished second.

This is Elena’s second medal at the competition. Previously, she became the vice-champion in the hit race. Only the German Emma Hinze was ahead of the Ukrainian.

Olena will receive a reward of 20,000 hryvnias for taking the top prize within the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, which is implemented by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv State Regional Government. Another 10,000 will be given to her coach Yevgeny Bolibruch.

We will remind you that Olena Starikova is an athlete of the Lviv School of Higher Sports Mastery and the Educational and Sports Base of Summer Sports. Last year, the cyclist won silver at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
