Maksym Zinchuk Wins Bronze Medal at the European Judo Cup
Judoka from Lviv Region, Maksym Zinchuk, became the bronze medalist at the European Cup for Cadets U18, which took place in Poreč, Croatia.
Successes of the Ukrainian National Team at the European Cup
The event was held on March 15-16 in Poreč (Croatia). The European Cup was contested by 820 athletes from 37 countries, including fifty judokas representing the Ukrainian national team.
The Ukrainian team won the following medals:
- two gold medals,
- two silver medals,
- three bronze medals.
The team took fourth place overall in the team standings.
🥉Athlete from Lviv region contributed to the medal tally. Maksym Zinchuk won bronze in the weight category up to 55 kilograms. He won against a competitor from Lithuania in the fight for third place.
“Maksym is a student of the Lviv Professional Sports College and a representative of the School of Higher Sports Mastery and SC ‘Lion’. He is trained under the guidance of Vladyslav Drobot,” said Roman Khimiak, head of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
“Maksym started very confidently in Croatian Poreč. He was one of the favorites in this Cup and was seeded seventh. We prepared very well for the competition. I told Maksym – enjoy the fight! And we succeeded today! There are more stages of the European Cups, the European Championship, and the World Championship ahead. The preparation continues,” commented Vladyslav Drobot on the success of his protege.
