The Ukrainian judo championship in the U-17 age group ended in Uzhhorod on 22 February.
This was reported by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
For two days, almost 600 athletes from 23 regions competed on the tatami of the Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum sports complex, playing for 17 sets of awards. Maksym Zinchuk from Lviv is the U-17 judo champion of Ukraine
Maksym Zinchuk, a representative of Lviv region, won in the 55 kg weight category.
“Maksym is a student of the Lviv Professional College of Sports, he is in the 11th grade. The athlete is coached by Vladyslav Drebot,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department at the Lviv Regional State Administration.
“From the very morning, he set Maksym up very well for the fight. He was brought to the championship in very good shape, he was the favourite in the competition and proved it. We thank everyone for their support. We will continue to prepare, because next year we will qualify for the European Championships and the World Cup,” commented coach Vladislav Drebot.
