The event included river rafting, game competitions, sports tourism and a concert.
The event took place this weekend, on 12-13 October, near Mykolaiv as part of the development of the League of the Unconquered veteran sports ecosystem.
The trip included a two-day rafting trip on the Dniester River, where participants got to know different types of tourist boats, including a ten-seater catamaran, tourist kayak, kayak and SUP board. There were also game competitions and a concert by the Ot vinta band.
The event was attended by about 100 people. These were servicemen and women who had been injured in combat and were undergoing rehabilitation or rotation, their families, as well as young people and students of various specialities, including the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Tourism at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after I. Bobersky.
“This is one of the four events (the final one) that we managed to organise this year in synergy with the great team that Taras Biloshytskyi has assembled.
It is an effective platform to share your impressions or observations, ideas or wishes, reflect with like-minded people and discuss plans for the future. This is what motivates me personally to join these events,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The rafting trip is organised by the Manivtsi TSC with the financial support of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration as part of the regional programme “Youth of Lviv Region”.
Prior to the Dniester Waves, three other similar events were organised, involving 220 soldiers: “Rehabilitation by Tourism 2.0”, “Above the Sky” and “Together”.
