In the Lviv region, 80 trainers passed a seminar on combat hopak

During the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures from experienced speakers and improve the technical elements of combat hopak.

In August in Yasenytsia-Zamkova in Sambir Oblast, the “Seminar on combat hopak” took place – annual training for trainers, instructors and teachers of combat hopak.

The seminar began with a lecture by Volodymyr Pilat, the founder of combat hopak. During his speech, he talked about the importance of raising children and youth in a national and patriotic spirit.

The next day, training began. The participants were divided into groups according to skill levels. The trainers with the lowest skill level “Zhovtyak” were trained by the talented teacher Volodymyr Bilous. He used his own example to show the basic technique of combat hopak.

Volodymyr Kutsan, vice-president of the Combat Hopak Federation of Ukraine, undertook the training of the highest level of “Jura” skill. The teacher showed the elements of wrestling, grappling, elbows and knees. After that, they moved on to practice and the duels began.

At the end of the seminar, participants took exams. The tests consisted of two stages: theory and practice. At the theory test, the participants told orally what they learned at the lectures and how they plan to use it in training in their own sections. At the practice test, the trainers showed elements of the skill level that was improved during the seminar.

“The organizers of the seminar charged the participants with motivation to work for the benefit of Ukraine, to educate children and young people, because young people are the future of our strong and independent Ukraine,” the participants of the seminar shared.

The project was implemented with the support of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Oblast within the framework of the project competition of the “Youth of Lviv Region” program. It is aimed at the development of combat hopak trainers and raising the level of youth education.
