This weekend, the regional festival “Mom, Dad, I – a sports family” took place in Birki of the Ivano-Frankivsk community as part of the Complex Games of the Lviv region.
18 teams from different communities of the region competed for the title of the most athletic family.
The festival was organized by the Lviv Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All” and the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Oblast.
In order to win the cup and medals, the teams had to overcome 5 relays. The most athletic families were determined by the total number of points scored in the relays.
The winner this year was a family from the Sambir community, silver went to a family representing the Mykolaiv community, and bronze to a family from the Strilkiv community. Families raising children with disabilities also had the opportunity to present their communities. Representatives of the Novorozdil community won the gold among such clans, and representatives of the Ivano-Frankivsk community won the silver.
“However, these competitions are not about results or points. The most valuable thing for us is that it is here that families learn the beauty of an active lifestyle. And they realize that the weekend can be spent not only with a picnic or movies, but also with badminton, cornhole or relay races,” says the head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Roman Khimyak.
We will remind you that the Complex Games of the Lviv region is the largest sports and health project among the collective teams of the communities of the region. In total, competitions in 16 types of programs are planned within the Games. They will take place in different parts of Lviv region throughout the year.
