Two national-level tournaments will be held this Sunday, February 19, in the Lviv Region with kyokushinkai karate: the qualifying championship of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian tournament among cadets and juniors.
For adult athletes, this is not only a chance to win new awards, but also an opportunity to join the team that will represent Ukraine at the European Championship in Sweden. The best will be determined in the sections of kata, team kata and kumite.
Athletes will compete in the sports hall of the Department of Physical Education of Lviv Polytechnic. The competitive part will start at 9:00.
“Those federations that keep internal championships are not afraid to hold competitions between air alarms, and fortunately most of them deserve special respect. After all, as long as there is internal competition, there is development, there is dynamics. Less experienced athletes have the opportunity to observe those who have already reached certain heights, to motivate themselves and improve,” says the head of the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA Roman Khim’yak.
We will remind you that one of the most powerful centers for the development of kyokushinkai karate operates in the Lviv region. This year, more than 60 athletes from Lviv Oblast were included in the national team. Last December, the region hosted the championship and the Cup of Ukraine. According to the results of the competition, the national team of Lviv Oblast won the most medals – 33 gold, 32 silver and 52 bronze.
