In February, Pavlo Bal was awarded the title of Best Athlete of Lviv, and his coach Bohdan Dobransky was named the best coach of the month. Each will receive a one-time cash prize of 40 thousand hryvnias from the city.
The nominations of both were supported by all members of the commission, which included representatives of the National Olympic Committee, sports officials, and journalists. In February, Pavlo won gold at the World Championship in para cross-country skiing in the ‘mixed’ relay and silver in the individual 20 km race in Toblach, Italy.
It is worth mentioning that besides his achievements in para cross-country skiing and para biathlon, Pavlo Bal is a bronze medalist at the Paralympic Games in Paris in cycling (handbike). From now on, the best athlete and coach will be selected monthly, receiving a one-time award as part of the support program.
