The Ukrainian Freestyle Wrestling Championship – FS 2024 took place on 15-16 June in Ivano-Frankivsk. The competition was attended by 160 wrestlers from across the country.
The winners and prize-winners were representatives of Lviv region:
🥇1st place – Yuriy Idzinsky (125 kg weight category)
🥈2nd place – Timur Gudyma (74 km weight category)
🥉3rd place – Vladyslav Stepchuk (125 kg weight category)
Yuriy Vovk took 5th place in the 65kg weight category.
The team of Lviv region took sixth place in the team competition.
“Yuriy Idzinsky, in addition to being the best national level wrestler in the light heavyweight division, is also serving in the National Guard of Ukraine. We congratulate the winner and runners-up of the Ukrainian Championship and remind you that freestyle wrestling is one of the adaptive sports that military veterans can practice for free in Lviv Oblast at the Atlet Sports School,” said Roman Khimyak, Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
