On the basis of the Western rehabilitation and sports center, the championship of Ukraine in biathlon among juniors and juniors continues.
81 athletes are competing for medals at the competition: 35 junior women and 46 junior men from eight regions of Ukraine. The Lviv region is represented by ten pupils of the regional Olympic training center for winter sports and the children’s and youth sports school “Yantar” in the city of Novoyavorivsk.
Olena Horodna, a representative of the Lviv region, has already won two medals at the competition. On Monday, she became a bronze medalist in the sprint race, on Tuesday she won silver in the pursuit race. And today, Olena’s sister, Yuliya Horodna, won bronze in the 12.5 km individual race.
By the way, the training base, where talented biathletes train, is currently being renovated – the reconstruction of the biathlon shooting range is underway in the Lviv Regional Olympic Training Center for Winter Sports. It is carried out within the framework of the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of the Lviv Region, which is implemented by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Oblast.
In the coming days, mass starts and a mixed relay will also be held at the championship. In total, 10 national biathlon events will be held in Lviv Oblast this year. The closest event after these competitions is the championship of Ukraine among young men in March.
