As a result, the national team of the Lviv region took the third overall team place among men.
On May 12, at the Training and Sports Base for Summer Wrestling of the Ministry of Defense in Lviv, the final matches for the title of champion of Ukraine in men’s freestyle wrestling and winner of the Cup of Ukraine in Greco-Roman wrestling took place.
Athletes from the Lviv region won three awards in the finals of the championship of Ukraine in men’s freestyle wrestling:
1st place in the weight category up to 125 kg – Yuriy Idzinsky, representative of the comprehensive children’s and youth sports school “Athlet” LOO FST “Dynamo”. Trainers – Viktor Hlibenko, Roman Protsiv;
1st place in the weight category up to 79 kg – Oleksiy Domanytskyi, representative of the regional School of Higher Sports Mastery, coaches – Bohdan Semeniv, Duh Ihor.
2nd place in the weight category up to 74 kg – Gudyma Timur, representative of the comprehensive children’s and youth sports school “Athlet” of the FST “Dynamo” LOO. Coach – Oleksiy Melnyk
During two days, 317 men from 23 regions fought in two types of wrestling.
Today’s final matches were attended by deputy chiefs of Lviv OVA Andriy Godyk and Yuriy Buchko.
We will remind you that the day before, on May 10, the women’s freestyle wrestling competition took place. 84 athletes from 16 regions competed for the title of champion of Ukraine. According to the results of the competition, the national team of the Lviv region among women took the first overall team place, having won one gold, four silver and four bronze awards.
