The competition among men and women took place in Porec, Croatia. The Ukrainian team included representatives from Lviv region.
Oleg Gichva also won silver at the European Championships. In the finals of the 71 kg weight category, the athlete met with a representative of Great Britain, but lost in this fight. Oleh Hichva represents the Children and Youth Sports School No. 2. His coaches are Andriy Salva and Ihor Nynych.
Also, Solomiya Lyniv, a pupil of the Children and Youth Sports School No. 2, won a bronze medal in the 48 kg weight category.
Solomiya trains under the guidance of Ihor Nynych and Oleksiy Barylyak.
“Ukraine took the first place in the team at the 2024 European Youth Boxing Championships. Our athletes won 22 medals, including 8 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze,” said Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
