Bucharest will host the European Championship among adults and under-23 athletes this week. Among the youth, 10 Ukrainian wrestlers compete, three of which train in the Lviv region.
In the weight category up to 57 kg, Oleksandra Khomenets, a 19-year-old wrestler from Truskavets, who last year became the vice-champion of the world and the best athlete of the Lviv region according to the results of the year, will perform. Oleksandra will start the fight for medals on March 16.
In the weight category up to 65 kg, Ukraine will be represented by Oksana Chudyk, a 21-year-old athlete, European champion in freestyle wrestling, bronze medalist of the World Championship among athletes under 23 years of age. The first fight in Oksana will also take place on Thursday.
Manola Skobelska, a 19-year-old wrestler who last year won bronze at the World Championship in freestyle wrestling among athletes under 23 years of age, will compete in the weight category up to 68 kg. Manola’s first fight is already tomorrow.
