In Lviv, free Nordic walking classes are being resumed

After the summer break, free Nordic walking training in Stryi Park is being resumed in Lviv. Classes will be held every Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. They are organized by the Lviv Regional Center “Sports for All”.

Nordic walking is a unique type of health practice that is gaining more and more popularity every year. It is one of the easiest ways to become more active and healthy. For the first time, the regional center introduced free classes in this type of sport in April last year. The number of participants in open training is always different – sometimes there are up to half a hundred people willing to learn Nordic walking.

The classes are free, they are conducted by professional trainer Oksana Zalisko, vice-president of the Ukrainian Nordic Walking Federation for international relations, prize winner and winner of international competitions. In order to practice Nordic walking, only special poles are needed. “Sports for everyone” will provide them at the first training sessions to those who don’t have them yet, but want to try.

“This time, we will especially disseminate information about the possibility of training among internally displaced persons. For them, this is an opportunity not only to exercise for their health, but also to meet new friends, to reduce the level of stress and tension with the help of activity,” says the head of the youth and sports department of Lviv OVA Roman Khimyak.

The first class of the renewed cycle will take place this Tuesday, October 11, at 14 Samchuk Street near the physical culture department building of Lviv Polytechnic.

By the way, those who will feel confident enough in the technique after the first classes will be able to compete in the open Nordic walking cup “Lviv autumn” at the end of October. Pre-registration of participants, with the provision of a starting number, will take place until October 20 at the link
