Volodymyr Hera from Lviv won the second silver medal for Ukraine at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany. This time he was second in the discus throw. The second competitive day of the Invictus Games 2023 is underway. Volodymyr Hera from Lviv won “silver” in the IF7 category in the discus throw with a result of 10.50.
It will be recalled that yesterday the same soldier won a silver medal in the shot put.
Volodymyr Hera is a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served in the 24th separate mechanized brigade. On September 1, 2014, he received a spinal cord injury near the Luhansk airport. Volodymyr is currently serving at the National Academy of Ground Forces.

The Invictus Games were launched in 2014 by Prince Harry and were first held in London (UK). About 300 athletes from 13 countries who fought alongside the United Kingdom in recent military campaigns took part in them. In May 2020, the event was supposed to take place in The Hague, but due to quarantine restrictions caused by COVID-19, it was postponed to 2021 and later to 2022. Finally, in April 2022, the Ukrainian national team performed in The Hague (Netherlands). Some members of the national team returned to the service again.
