The national wrestling team of Lviv Oblast won the championship of Ukraine

For the awards of the Youth and Sports Administration, the Lviv OVA will pay a total of 51,000 hryvnias to female athletes.

Within the framework of the championship, a women’s freestyle wrestling competition was already held, where 84 athletes from 16 regions fought for the title of champion of Ukraine. The women’s national team of the Lviv region took the first overall team place, having won one gold, four silver and four bronze awards according to the results of the competition.

Oleksandra Khomenets became the champion of Ukraine. The pupil of Orest Skobelskyi and Andriy Byrka is the strongest in the weight category up to 57 kg. Tetyana Borysenko, who trains under the guidance of Viktor Pervachuk and Vitaly Borysenko, became the vice-champion in this weight category.

Yana Soroka won the second place in the weight category up to 55 kg. She trains under the guidance of Oleksandr Rakovsky. In the weight categories up to 68 kg and up to 76 kg, the second place was won by Alla Belinska and Maria Orlevich, respectively. Alla trains under the guidance of Ihor Duh and Andrii Stadnik, and Maria – under the guidance of Orest Skobelskyi.

Maria Nemish and Oksana Chudyk won the third place in the weight categories up to 55 kg and 65 kg. In the weight category up to 68 kg, two wrestlers from Lviv Oblast won bronze – Ulyana Bura and Manola Skobelska. They train under the leadership of Oleksandr Rakovsky, Stepan Tkachyshyn and Orest Skobelsky.

For the awards of the Youth and Sports Administration, the Lviv OVA will pay a total of 51,000 hryvnias to female athletes. They will be awarded to athletes who competed in highly competitive categories – Oleksandra Khomenets, Tetyana Borysenko, Alla Belinska and Manola Skobelska. The coaches of these athletes will also receive monetary rewards in the amount of 25,500 UAH. Awards are paid within the framework of the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of the Lviv Oblast.

Please note that on May 12, 20 final bouts will be held for the title of champion of Ukraine in men’s freestyle wrestling and winner of the Cup of Ukraine in Greco-Roman wrestling. After each final match, there will be an official awarding ceremony for the champions and prize-winners of the competition.
