Protsyuk Vasyl Yaronovych “Kropyva” was born on December 22, 1914, village Horodylovychy of the Sokal district of the Lviv region – a member of the OUN and the UPA, head of the staff of the “Kruka” kuren (Klymyshyn Ivan) (1943), organizer and head of senior and sub-senior schools in Shumshchyna, commander of a hundred, kuren, chief of staff of the UPA-South group (1943 — 13.06.1944). Participant of “Enlightenment”.

In the 1930s, he organized the “Enlightenment” group in his native village.

In 1939, he served as a corporal in the Polish Army and took part in the German-Polish war in September of the same year.

After moving to the territory of Western Ukraine occupied by Soviet troops, he was imprisoned in Lutsk prison, from where he escaped in 1941.

In 1943, he was the head of the staff of the “Kruka” camp (Klymyshyn Ivan), the organizer and head of senior and sub-senior schools in Shumshchyna, the commander of a combat hundred, the UPA-Pivnich camp and its camp near the village of Velika Ilovitsa, Shum district, chief of staff of the UPA-South group (1943 — 13.06.1944).

Shot himself with his bodyguard in a hiding place surrounded by Muscovites on June 13, 1944. in the village Kordyshiv, Shum district. He was buried together with a bodyguard and five rebels at the Old Cemetery in Shumsk.
