Today the whole world commemorates the victims of the Holocaust

It was on this day in 1945 that soldiers of the 1st Ukrainian Front liberated the prisoners of the largest death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, near Auschwitz, Poland.

Innocent people became victims of Nazi terror. They were condemned to death in a cruel way – in gas chambers, during execution, from hunger, exhaustion, forced labor, extreme living conditions.

Pits and ravines in Ukrainian villages and cities remember this tragedy. It was on this day in 1945 that soldiers of the 1st Ukrainian Front liberated the prisoners of the largest death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, near Auschwitz, Poland.

“For more than 11 months, the Russian occupation forces have been trying to outrun the Nazis, terrorizing civilians in the cities and villages of Ukraine every day. But we will not allow it. Armed Forces of Ukraine are with us. The whole civilized world is with us. We are getting stronger every day. Let’s fight back! We will bring to justice everyone who gives criminal orders and everyone who carries them out. But we will never forget those who died innocently,” said the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.

Eternal memory to the victims of the Holocaust. Eternal memory to all people who became victims because of someone’s sick ambitions that were not stopped in time.
