“Practice is the best teacher in acquiring any profession. During the competition, future specialists can try their hand, compare their skills and take the first step towards professional activity.

This year, two regional competitions of professional skills have already been held, and two more competitions are planned for the fall. Almost 70,000 hryvnias have been allocated from the regional budget for cash prizes for the participants. Thank you to the Department of Education and Science for supporting the development of youth!” – noted Ivan Sobko.

The competition task was the performance of “SMOKY EYES COLOR” make-up. Each participant worked with a model and had to choose the appropriate version of the eye make-up scheme depending on the face, shape and fit of the model’s eyes. One of the evaluation criteria was the integrity of the image, so the contestants not only did make-up, but complemented the image of the models.

When evaluating, the jury also took into account the appearance of the participants, the organization of the workplace, compliance with labor protection standards, the ability to work with tools and perform labor techniques. Make-up was evaluated based on the technique of execution, color and the impression it creates in its integrity with the image of the model.

The competitive task consisted only of practical work, theoretical knowledge was necessary, but it was not subject to written test verification.

The members of the jury were experienced specialists in the field of beauty: a certified judge of the national championships of Ukraine SPU, the vice-champion of the world in 2014, the owner of a beauty studio, a master of the international makeup class and a prize-winner of the European Championship, as well as makeup artists and makeup artists-stylists.

According to the results of their evaluation, the winners of the competition were:

1st place – Kan Snizhana, LVPU of Trade and Services;
2nd place – Tvardovska Vladyslava, Interregional VET Center of Artistic Modeling and Design in Lviv;
3rd place – Olshanska Diana, VPU No. 29, Lviv.

“We continue to hold professional skill competitions among VET institutions, because this really demonstrates the quality and level of acquired knowledge. Moreover, it is a great event for career orientation of our professional technicians. For its part, the Department of Education and Science of LOVA, with the aim of even greater popularization and motivation of education seekers, has been awarding prize-winners with cash prizes and valuable gifts for three years.

Separately, we should thank the members of the jury, who also support the contestants with gifts and consider students as their future colleagues and employees. Thank you all for the organization,” said Ivan Pykus, head of the department of innovation, professional, professional pre-higher and higher education of LOVA.

It should be noted that the next, III stage, of the competition is all-Ukrainian, but with the beginning of a full-scale invasion, this stage was temporarily suspended.
