Name The “Eastern Europe” fund, within the framework of the “Phoenix” project, is holding a “Civic Tech” competition of projects to support IDPs and communities

The deadline for receiving application forms is June 25.

The Department for Digital Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration invites civil society organizations working on the development of digital tools to participate in the Act to Support competition, namely: charitable organizations, public associations and other legal entities registered in Ukraine and with non-profit status.

Act to Support is an acceleration program and competition for digital tools projects aimed at supporting IDPs, in particular youth, small and micro businesses, and host communities.

The main goal of the competition is to strengthen the ability of public organizations to effectively cooperate with IDPs and local communities that host them. The competition is aimed at attracting youth and techno-activists, promoting the development of small and micro-businesses and overcoming the consequences of war, as well as the opportunity to bring innovative approaches and ideas that will contribute to the strengthening and development of IDPs and communities in the conditions of complex challenges associated with the military conflict.

The jury of the competition includes powerful specialists:

Viktor Lyakh – President of the Eastern Europe Foundation;
Inna Pidluska – Deputy Executive Director of the International Renaissance Foundation;
Tetyana Prykhodko – analyst of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine;
Kateryna Oniliogwu – head of the communication and public awareness component of the “EU4DigitalUA” Project;
Kateryna Borysenko is a project manager of the Open Data/Civic Tech direction of the Eastern Europe Foundation.

The best 40 teams selected by the jury will have the opportunity to meet them at the ideaton, where they will present their projects. After passing the acceleration program, the best 20 teams will have the opportunity to present their projects on demo mode. Ultimately, the jury will select 10 winners, each of whom will receive financial support of up to 20,000 euros to implement their decision.

The organizers expect projects that:

facilitate interaction between citizens and authorities;
able to increase the level of security in the community;
increase the transparency of the activities of local authorities;
promote the work of small and micro-businesses in wartime conditions;
help integrate IDPs (including youth) into the host community;
solve other problems that arose or were exacerbated by the full-scale Russian invasion.
