A gender-themed photo contest #proZhyttya varna – about women’s participation in the defense of the country is starting

The Volyn Press Club and the Gender Center of the Volyn Region, with the support of the Internews Media Program in Ukraine, announce a Contest of documentary photos that reflect the impact of the war in Ukraine on women and men, highlight social and gender issues during martial law.

In particular, these can be pictures about the participation of women in the defense of the country, volunteering of women and men in Ukraine and abroad, motherhood during the war / responsible parenthood, professional realization against the challenges of wartime and stereotypical ideas about the roles of women and men in society, etc.

Journalists, press officers, volunteers, public activists and other citizens living in Ukraine and forced to live outside Ukraine can take part in the competition.

Competition requirements:

The works will be evaluated by a jury made up of specialists in the field of photography, media and gender issues (names will not be disclosed until the end of the competition).

The results of the competition will be announced in June 2023.

All participants of the competition will receive diplomas, and the winners will receive a reward.

The best photos will be posted on the GenderGuide information resource and distributed in social networks and materials of the organizers.

Please send the photo to the e-mail address: volynpressclub@gmail.com, indicating “For the photo contest_Your last name” in the subject of the letter. The deadline is May 31 inclusive.
