The Yavoriv National Nature Park has been operating on the territory of Lviv region for 24 years. Its area with unique natural complexes, historical and cultural centers of European and world importance is more than 70 m 2, which is a little more than San Marino.

The Main European Watershed passes through the park, on the slope of which the rivers flowing into the Black Sea or the Baltic Sea begin. Ancient beech forests also grow on the territory of the park, there are 745 species of plants and 300 species of animals, including 8 descendants of wild tarpan horses. There are 6 routes running through the park, there are 2 pilgrimage centers: Krekhiv shrines and Stradecka mountain.

The park reveals fascinating historical, religious and national traditions of the region to visitors. Battles took place here during the First and Second World Wars and parts of the trenches and burial sites have been preserved. You can also visit centers of religious pilgrimage and learn how to make a wax candle, a swaddle doll, and paint a sycamore toy, which is considered one of the elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Due to the special location of the park and special attention to the protection of the territory, there is a wide variety of rare species of animals, among them: European elk, red deer, ermine, common ferret, river otter. You can also observe various species of birds in the park. Popular today, one of the types of recreational activity – birdwatching offers observation of unique species of birds in the park: long-tailed owl, white-tailed eagle, black shrew, little plover, black grouse and woodpecker, black stork.

In Yavorivsky Park, you can feel the power of nature in ancient forests in a special way. It is in such places that the oldest trees on the planet grow. Such forests are a wonderful place for many rare species of animals, fungi and plants.

The park is ideal for hiking, cycling or swimming in lakes and ponds, as the natural and climatic characteristics of three regions intersect in the park: Podillia, Polissia and the Carpathians.

The Yavoriv National Park is part of the International Biosphere Reserve “Rostochchya” under the auspices of UNESCO.
