Police rescue elderly woman who got lost in the forest near Novoyavorivsk
On 20 June, at around 18.00, the police received a report from a woman who is currently abroad that her 74-year-old mother had gotten lost in the woods near Novoyavorivsk and was not feeling well.
Employees of all services of the Yavoriv District Police Department and rescuers were involved in the search for the elderly woman. Search teams combed the forest and surveyed it with a drone. Law enforcement officers also kept in constant contact with the woman by phone, asking her what she saw or heard to find out where she was.
Around 22.00, criminal police operatives found the woman in a helpless state and, together with rescuers, transported her to an ambulance.
Lviv police urge residents to prepare carefully for hiking in the forest. The main tips are to study and develop routes in advance, have means of communication with you, and warn your family and friends about your plans. In unfamiliar places, a map and compass, as well as the skills to use them, will come in handy.
