Olena Samoilenko from Lviv turned 103 years old

In Lviv, they continue the tradition of congratulating long-lived residents of the city who have celebrated 100 years or more. In particular, the oldest birthday girl of the month, Olena Samoilenko, celebrated her birthday: on March 10, she turned 103 years old.

Mrs. Olena raised two children, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. And in general, she is very loved and respected by many Lviv residents. After all, she worked as a teacher in Lviv schools for more than 30 years.

Representatives of the Department of Social Protection of the Lviv City Council visited the native and congratulated her on behalf of the Lviv community and handed over financial assistance in the amount of 5,000 hryvnias.

In total, in March, seven more residents of the Lviv community celebrate their centenary or more: five have their centenary, one has their 101st birthday, and one has their 102nd birthday.

It should be noted that all the anniversaries are greeted by representatives of the city government from the community, as every year. Traditionally, those long-lived people who celebrate a hundred years are given a one-time financial aid of 5,000 hryvnias, a commemorative coin and a congratulatory letter from the mayor on their birthday. All those who celebrate 101 years or more – 5 thousand hryvnias.

In general, in 2023, 315,000 hryvnias have been allocated in the budget for the payment of one-time benefits for long-term residents of Lviv.

We would like to remind that a one-time financial aid of 5 thousand hryvnias is paid in accordance with the order of the mayor dated 06.01.2023 No. 4 “On the provision of one-time financial aid to persons who will be 100 years old or more in 2023 – residents of the Lviv urban territorial community”. In general, the tradition of congratulating long-lived people in Lviv has existed for 15 years.
