In Lviv on January 29th, a ceremony was held to honor the memory of the heroic warriors of the Battle of Kruty, which occurred over a hundred years ago, gathering numerous representatives from the public, military, and government at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
Military personnel, students from the Heroes of Kruty Lyceum, and deputies of the Lviv Regional Council participated in the ceremony, laying flowers and lighting candles at the graves of Ihor Losky and Andriy Lazarenko, symbolizing eternal memory and respect. Leaders of religious confessions held a memorial service for the souls of the deceased.
The act of honoring recalled the historic Battle of Kruty station, where young fighters of the UNR Army fiercely resisted the enemy, helping to continue the struggle for national independence. The head of the Lviv Regional Council, Yuriy Kholod, emphasized the role of this battle in strengthening the Armed Forces and shared stories about Losky and Lazarenko, whose contributions to science and culture remain relevant today.
The memorial event affirmed the importance of patriotic spirit and justice for modern Ukraine and its future, uniting the community in support of ideas that have become expressions of Ukrainian national identity.
