Representatives of territorial communities from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Lviv, Volyn, Zakarpattia and Rivne regions got acquainted with the features of energy management implementation. A series of information sessions was organized in the regional offices of “U-LEAD with Europe” in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
“U-LEAD with Europe” expert Dmytro Sakaliuk worked with community representatives, who familiarized the event participants with the advantages of implementing energy management and provided recommendations for its implementation. This was reported in the regional office of U-LEAD in the Lviv region.
“As of today, in addition to the fact that it is necessary to actively prepare for winter, one should not forget about strategic goals. Energy management is a kind of bridge between operational goals and current work and energy security strategy, which communities must develop and implement,” said Dmytro Sakaliuk.
The expert spoke about the legislative support for the implementation of energy management and analyzed the basis of the normative legal acts that regulate this process.
“The National Council for the Recovery of Ukraine from the Consequences of the War developed the Plan for the Recovery of Ukraine. This document has a separate section on energy security. It states the need to introduce and ensure continuous improvement of the energy management system at the state and municipal levels. Such an initiative at the state level is critically necessary,” the expert noted.
Community specialists were introduced to the energy management system and its implementation algorithm. The expert emphasized the importance of a detailed analysis and study of the situation with energy security in the community, in particular, it concerns the inventory of buildings, the analysis of energy costs, conducting an energy audit and optimization.
The experience of implementing energy management was shared by representatives of Dolyna City Council of Ivano-Frankivsk Region.
“We all understand the importance of energy management and energy security for the sustainable development of the community. Energy resources are becoming less and less, eventually a shortage may appear, so it is necessary to pay attention to the topic of energy efficiency and develop it in yourself. Our community started this path back in 2009, when we joined the Agreement of Mayors, being among the first ten cities in Ukraine that succeeded in doing so. Since then, steps have been taken to implement energy management in the Dolyna community, which included a number of management decisions and technical processes,” shared Ivan Dyriv, head of the Dolyna community.
