“A huge tragedy for Lviv Oblast and all of Ukraine, which took the lives of 49 adults and 28 children. Eternal memory of the dead. Condolences to the relatives”, – noted the head of the region Maksym Kozytskyi.

The Sknyliv tragedy is a plane crash that occurred during the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the 14th Aviation Corps of the Ukrainian Air Force at the Sknyliv airfield near Lviv on July 27, 2002.

The Su-27UB fighter jet fell into a crowd of spectators as a result of maneuvers in the air. As a result of the tragedy, 77 people died, including 28 children. The number of victims is 250 people.
