The Minister of Culture and Media of Croatia honored the memory of Ukrainian defenders at Lychakov

A delegation from Croatia is on a working visit to Lviv Oblast.

The memory of the fallen heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian war was commemorated at the Lychakiv cemetery. Croatian Minister of Culture and Media Nina Obuljen Korzynek, Croatian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Anica Dzamich and chief of staff of Lviv OVA Iryna Shurpyak laid flowers at the graves of Ukrainian defenders on the Field of Mars.

The delegation also honored the memory of Croatian soldiers of the First World War who died on the territory of Ukraine.

Iryna Shurpyak thanked the honored guests for their visit and willingness to continue supporting Ukraine in its struggle for freedom.

We will remind, today the Minister of Culture and Media of Croatia, Nina Obuljen Korzynek, met with the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi. The head of the region talked about the destruction caused to the Ukrainian cultural heritage by the attacks of the posia. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation between Ukraine and Croatia within the framework of UNESCO in order to preserve the cultural heritage of the Lviv region.

For reference. The memorial to the Croatian soldiers who died in the First World War was installed in October 2018 at the military part of the Ličakiv cemetery. According to general information, during the years 1914-1918, several thousand Croatian soldiers died on the territory of Galicia, Bukovyna, and Volhynia.
