Border guards of the Lviv Detachment detected a hidden citizen.
A native of Zhytomyr region intended to illegally leave the country by hiding in the sleeping compartment of a Mercedes truck. The truck driver expected to receive USD 3,000 for his services after crossing the border.
When entering the checkpoint, the driver said that he was travelling alone, and the border guards made a note of this in the control ticket. During the inspection of the car, border guards noticed a “hare” hiding in the sleeping compartment of the car under a blanket.
In this way, the 34-year-old resident of Zhytomyr wanted to avoid passing control and get to Germany, as he had no legal grounds for travelling abroad.
As a result, administrative proceedings were drawn up against the man who tried to illegally leave the country, and the Lviv Border Guard Detachment operatives sent a report on the detection of signs of a criminal offence under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
