Mykola Meret became the new head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region.
The ceremonial presentation of the new military prosecutor took place today, March 24, with the participation of Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Anton Voytenko and the head of the Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
Mykola Meret started his career in the prosecutor’s office in 2009. During this time, he held various positions, including management positions, in prosecutor’s offices of various levels. Prior to his new appointment, he worked as the deputy head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
“Mykola Dmytrovych has proven himself as a highly professional, motivated prosecutor. He is a leader who is able to organize a team to achieve set goals. Given the wartime, there will be many of them. The organization of a team to strengthen the fight against crime in all areas will be among the primary tasks set before Mykola Meret by the Prosecutor General. These include, in particular, crimes in the budget system, criminal and penal corruption, crimes related to the illegal use of property and state procurement equipment, crimes in the defense-industrial complex. I am convinced that Mykola Meret is able to show effective results in his new position,” Deputy Prosecutor General Anton Voytenko stressed.
The new head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region thanked for the trust and assured that he would make every effort to perform his official duties and tasks in a high-quality manner.
“In the Lviv region, we strive to achieve a high level of efficiency and coordination of all bodies that ensure law and order and fight against crime. And this, first of all, depends on the people who hold such positions. Currently, our soldiers are fighting the crimes of the external enemy at the front, and we have to show them that there is also an active fight against crime at the local level. I wish Mr. Meret high indicators in his work and respect from his colleagues,” said the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
Mykola Meret was appointed the head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region by order of the Prosecutor General’s Office dated March 17, 2023 for a period of 5 years.
