The population of Lviv has reached one million inhabitants

This was reported by the mayor of the city. But these are not indigenous Lviv residents, and the figure includes IDPs.

According to Andriy Sadovyi, the city still has a reserve and can accommodate more people.

He added that a total of more than five million people have passed through Lviv.

“Indeed, we had days when two million people lived there at the same time,” the official said.

According to him, colleagues from abroad were sometimes shocked by the number of IDPs.

“If this many people came to any other city in Europe at the same time, it would be a collapse, it would be a disaster,” Sadovyi said.

The city today still has a certain reserve, as temporary camps have been built, and many municipal housing units have been rebuilt for the temporarily displaced, the mayor added.
