Near Drohobych, the police promptly searched for a tourist who got lost in the forest

At noon on July 13, the Drohobytsky district police department received a report that a 58-year-old tourist from the city of Melitopol, who was temporarily living in the district center, got lost in the forest. The woman went into the massif in search of a source of mineral water and could not find her way back. Realizing that she would not be able to return on her own, she called the emergency line 102.

Police officers of the community, crews of response groups of the patrol police, employees of other services of the territorial division of the police, as well as foresters were involved in the search for the tourist.

Law enforcement officers divided the forest area into squares and within two hours found the wanted woman in the thickets at a distance of about 10 kilometers from Drohobych.

Since the woman did not feel well, an ambulance was called for her. Now there is no threat to the life and health of the sought-after tourist.

Law enforcement officials urge residents and guests of Lviv Oblast to carefully prepare for trips to the forest. The main advice is to study and develop routes in advance, have means of communication with you, warn relatives and friends about your plans, and better yet, do not go into the forest without a guide who is well-versed in the terrain. In unfamiliar places, a map and compass, as well as the skills to use them, will come in handy.
