Today, the General Director of the First Medical Association Oleg Samchuk appealed to the participants of the auction, who plan to buy the complex of the state enterprise “Vlasta Hotel” in Lviv, to withdraw their candidacies in favor of the patients of the largest hospital in Ukraine – the First Medical Association of Lviv.
According to Oleg Samchuk, the First Medical Association of Lviv, which is three hospitals, became the main medical facility in the rear during the war: more than 11,000 seriously wounded and 80,000 displaced persons were treated here.
“Thousands of patients are already calling us asking for help in rehabilitation and prosthetics. We can help them, but we have a big problem – they have nowhere to live. We cannot accommodate them in the hospital, because the hospital has a large number of critical patients who need to save their lives, and the rehabilitation of these people can take months. Or, for example, boys and girls who have returned from captivity: our psychotherapists work with them – they cannot live in a hospital at all, they must be among people. This is part of the treatment. The doctors have a choice: either deny the patients help, or find them a place to live.
We found a way out of this situation. There is a hotel “Vlasta” in Lviv. Old Soviet premises. The State Property Fund of Ukraine is selling it through an auction. We want this space to go to the patients and the hospital,” says Oleg Samchuk, CEO of the First Medical Association.
Therefore, First TMO together with the Lviv City Council are ready to buy the premises at the starting price – 7 million hryvnias, and to pay off all the company’s debts, which is another 8 million hryvnias, to repair it and temporarily house patients who need long-term treatment here.
It is a 12-story hotel building with a total area of 8,174.7 square meters. The hotel is located 1.7 km from the city center. The auction itself is scheduled for January 23 this year.
