In a recent home match of the Karpaty football club, the symbolic first kick of the ball was taken by a soldier, Taras Ivanyshyn.

Soldier Taras IVANYSHYN has been at war since September 2022. As a member of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, he performed combat missions in the Avdiivka sector. Avdiivka, Kamianka, Vesele.
On March 7, he was wounded in Vesele. A sniper’s bullet passed near his heart and stopped in his spine.
Taras could be evacuated from the battlefield only in a few hours. Then he was rushed to Pokrovsk, where the bullet was removed. After that, he underwent three more surgeries in intensive care in Dnipro. Then he had to go to a hospital in Lviv and undergo a long rehabilitation.
After passing the military qualification examination, soldier Ivanyshyn was recognized as partially fit. And in February 2024, he was sent to serve in the Lviv Regional Medical Center and Special Forces.
