Lviv police call on parents to remind schoolchildren of traffic rules

They also warn drivers: be as careful and attentive as possible when driving through intersections and pedestrian crossings, especially near educational institutions.

The best way to protect children from dangerous situations on the roads is to know the traffic rules. So the police remind you of a few simple rules that can save children’s lives and health:

– Walk only on sidewalks, and if there are none, walk on the roadside to meet traffic;

– Cross the road only at pedestrian crossings, making sure that traffic is letting you pass;

– Do not run across the road! If you do not have time to complete the crossing, you should wait on the dividing line until cars pass;

– Wait for public transport at bus stops or on the sidewalk, without stepping out onto the road;

– You can get on and off public transport only when it is completely stopped;

– After getting off, wait for the bus or other public transport to leave and, after making sure that there are no other vehicles, cross the road;

– Use clothes with reflective elements or special reflective stickers (flickers) that can be additionally placed on a backpack, bag or shoes – this will make students visible to car drivers, especially in the dark.
