Over 60,000 dollars were raised in Lviv during the charity art auction “5” in support of two military hospitals

The event took place within the artistic project “We and the World”, which was initiated by the Kozytskyi Charitable Foundation.

On December 1, a charitable art auction “5” took place in Lviv, the venue of which was the House of Scientists.

Visitors to the auction had the opportunity to purchase paintings, sculptures made of wood, clay, stone, fireclay, plaster, created by Ukrainian and foreign artists.

During the event, it was possible to sell 54 lots and collect $126,800. The organizers will direct half of these funds to the purchase of medical equipment for the Zaporizhia Military Hospital and the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Eastern Region, in particular, it is about devices that help find fragments in the human body, identify hematomas, amplified ultrasound devices, etc. The other half of the funds will be given as a thank you to the artists who submitted their works as lots for the auction.

As the art director of the Kozytskyi Charitable Foundation, the curator of the art project “We and the World” Khrystyna Beregovska said, this is already the fifth such auction within the scope of the said project.

“The Kozytskyi Charitable Fund has organized 5 art auctions over the past year and a half. All are successful, thanks to the right synergy of the team of organizers, artists and generous buyers – connoisseurs of art. At previous auctions, a total of 191 art lots were presented, of which 132 were purchased. With the funds received, we provided prostheses to two injured women from Lysychansk and Severodonetsk, provided 10 annual educational scholarships to students, purchased medical equipment for the Lviv Regional Perinatal Center and for Military Units A3309 (Dnipro) and A4615 (Zaporizhia), as well as financially helped artists. The fifth winter auction presents 65 lots of paintings and sculptures by 49 Ukrainian artists from different regions of Ukraine and foreigners,” Khrystyna Beregovska said at the opening of the auction.

The event was attended by government officials, volunteers, military personnel, artists, entrepreneurs.

“A good trend has appeared in various cities of Ukraine – to organize art auctions for charitable purposes. But I would very much like to see truly exemplary works of our artists become the lots at such auctions.

Thank you to everyone who took the time and opportunity to participate in the auction, which has a unique combination of works: old masters, modernists and contemporary artists. And all of them are our great pride. These are the people whose paintings and sculptural plastic demonstrate a true Ukrainian view of life and art. These are the artists who represent our country at the international level. These are the people on the basis of whose work we study the history and modernity of Ukrainian art. I also thank the foreign artists who donated their works for charity,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv OVA.

We will remind you that earlier we wrote about other charity auctions within the framework of the “We and the World” project. During the “Two Miracles” auction, 700,000 hryvnias were raised, with which they purchased the LifeStar emergency aid device for premature babies for the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center, and thanks to the “Promin” auction, almost 5 million hryvnias were collected, half of which handed over for setting up an operating room in the shelter of the perinatal center.
