Today, in Ukraine, as in the whole world, December 9 is the International Anti-Corruption Day. In 2003, on this day, the countries signed an international treaty that obliges member states to implement anti-corruption policies, approve relevant laws, and establish special bodies to combat this phenomenon.
The State Border Service of Ukraine has developed an Anti-corruption program for 2023-2025, which defines the main areas of prevention of corruption among the department’s personnel.
In the Lviv detachment, on a planned basis, preventive measures are carried out with personnel to prevent corruption and create a zero tolerance level for corruption.
So, during the current year, measures aimed at preventing and countering corruption were systematically carried out, in particular, anonymous surveys of both military personnel and travelers across the state border, briefings, anti-corruption actions, conversations, classes, trainings, etc.
By the way, last month, the anti-corruption action “Corruption always has consequences” was held at checkpoints on the state border and border divisions. The action is aimed at preventing and exposing bribery and other manifestations of illegal activity among border guards and citizens.
At checkpoints, border guards conducted explanatory work with citizens crossing the border on compliance with current legislation. At the same time, law enforcement officers reminded travelers to cross the border honestly and the need to report facts of corruption, if they are aware of them. Border guards conducted the same measures among residents of border settlements.
It should be noted that during this year the inspectors of the Lviv detachment refused illegal rewards in 238 cases. The total amount of bribes reaches over UAH 1.4 million.
Border guards once again appeal to all citizens – do not violate the current legislation of Ukraine and do not try to involve employees of the State Border Service in illegal activities by offering bribes for making illegal decisions! The border is not a place for corruption!!!
