In 32 communities, the second stage of the selection of candidates for veteran’s assistants is being completed
The process of forming a pool of candidates for participation in the pilot project of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to start a veteran’s assistant institute is ongoing. Almost 340 people have already expressed their desire to practically join this initiative, and in 32 communities the second stage of candidate selection is being completed.
This is the stage of interviews with the participation of specially created commissions in four regions, which became the sites for conducting the experiment. We will remind that it is planned to select a total of 400 citizens in 44 communities, who will undergo training at Veteran Development Centers and then work in service centers. Interviews with candidates are in an active phase in Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Most of the involved persons, 54%, are women, the average age of the candidate is 43, and most of them have a higher education at the master’s level – 52%. Meanwhile, 4 Veteran Development Centers have already been opened in the pilot regions, which will provide educational services to veterans and their family members for successful reintegration into civilian life. In particular, veteran assistants will be trained here. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs is working on the digitalization of the veteran service in the context of the creation of the office of the “Veteran’s Assistant” employee.
This will help the target audience better communicate with the service office, its representative, and will also greatly simplify the execution of the delegated mission by the veteran’s assistant. Candidates for the position of veteran’s assistant, if they wish to join the project and feel the potential of a socially active and caring person, still have time to submit an application in electronic form for participation in the competition exclusively through the E-veteran information portal (https://evereteran .gov.ua).
