The Agglomeration and Community Development Office of the Lviv City Council plans to acquire additional phototraps to monitor unauthorized waste dumping. The new equipment will be placed in the settlements of Gryada, Dublyany, Zashkiv, and Malehiv. This is especially relevant in the spring period when residents actively clean their properties of various types of waste, including construction debris.
Such devices were installed for the first time last year and have already proven their effectiveness. Photographs of violations are sent to the community officer’s email, allowing quick identification of the violating vehicles or individuals and holding them accountable. Additionally, this helps compel offenders to clean up the dumped waste themselves.
Currently, there are already 12 such phototraps operating round-the-clock in the Lviv community. Residents are also reminded of the option to dispose of bulky waste and old appliances at a special site on Zhovkivska Street, 18, which is serviced by LKP \”Lvivspetskomuntrans\”.
