In Lviv, there are about 1,300 cases of getting stuck in elevators per month

During an air alert, you cannot use the elevator – a rule that residents are constantly reminded about. However, quite often the townspeople do not follow it, which leads to dozens of people getting stuck in elevators every day.

As Vladyslav Ivanov, head of the Lviv City Council’s housing department, reported, in November alone, dispatch services received 1,295 such appeals.

“We strongly recommend not using elevators not only during an air alert, but also, if possible, to limit elevator use to relatively safe times. Now in Lviv, as in the whole country, emergency power outages are used due to power shortages. So at any moment the light may go out and you may find yourself in the elevator at this time,” says the head of the housing department of the Lviv City Council.

As Vladyslav Ivanov explained, emergency crews need up to an hour, and sometimes more, to help a person get out of the elevator.

We would like to remind you that additional emergency teams have been formed at the base of Lvivsvitlo LLP, which help to eliminate various emergency situations, in particular, to free people who are stuck in the elevator.
