On the evening of March 27, in an apartment building on Soniashnykova Street in the Sykhiv district of Lviv, three people, including a 9-year-old child, were poisoned by carbon monoxide. This was reported by the department of civil protection and territorial defense of the city.
The victims were taken to hospitals in moderate condition. The gas service stopped the gas supply to the apartment with a double-circuit boiler and a gas stove. Since the beginning of 2025, this is already the 19th case of carbon monoxide poisoning in the city, affecting 43 people, including 21 children, with two fatalities.
- The most common causes of incidents are the failure to follow the rules for using gas appliances.
- Symptoms of poisoning include headache, weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, and vomiting.
Experts urge residents to be cautious. In the event of symptoms, it is necessary to turn off all combustion appliances, go outside, and call emergency services at the following numbers: ambulance – 103, fire department – 101, gas service – 104, police – 102.
