On November 29, at 4:46 p.m., the Rescue Service “101” received a report about a fire in the city of Lviv on the street Okunevsky, 8 on the fifth floor of a nine-story residential building on the balcony of the apartment.
The fire damaged a balcony on an area of 0.5 square meters and a gas cylinder on an area of 0.25 square meters.
To avoid accidents, it is necessary to observe the following rules for using cylinders and gas appliances:
• Do not store gas-filled cylinders in living spaces, bathrooms, corridors, balconies, garages, or near heating devices.
• Do not use a faulty gas cylinder installation, do not repair it yourself.
• Exchange cylinders only at special points of the gas industry.
• Demand at the point of exchange that the valve be checked for tightness and gas mass in the cylinder. Do not repair the cylinder valve yourself.
• Do not allow the cylinder to heat up.
• In case of gas leakage, close the cylinder valve and take it outside.
