On May 26, in Lviv, at the Ivan Franko National University, an extremely important event took place in the lives of more than 300 students of 36 vocational and technical education institutions and specialized colleges of the Lviv and Chernivtsi regions, as well as their teachers and business mentors.
40 student mini-companies created within the framework of the “Company” program from Junior Achievement have been going for 8 long months until this day. From discussing the first business ideas with their mentors to creating student mini-companies, setting up production of goods and providing services, advertising them in social networks and organizing logistics chains for delivering their goods to buyers, as well as gaining experience in public sales during youth entrepreneurship fairs.
In order to win a single ticket to the Gen-E European festival of youth entrepreneurship in Istanbul, today they had to concentrate all the entrepreneurship and communication experience gained in eight months and talk about their business project and the achievements of their mini-companies as vividly and convincingly as possible.
The head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi thanked the participants of student mini-companies for their fresh ideas, courage and originality.
“The best investment is an investment in the education and improvement of skills of talented and hardworking youth. The “JA Company of the Year” competition brought together a large number of interested people – students, managers, sponsors, who are really ready to develop interesting business ideas and share them with the whole of Ukraine and the world. I believe that our youth should receive not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge. And it is precisely such initiatives that help them realize their practical potential – to create their own company, which in the future can work on a par with other well-known projects. Thank you to each of the participants for their courage and originality, thank you for the fresh ideas,” said the head of Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi.
The authoritative jury, which included successful entrepreneurs known in Ukraine and heads of the departments of education and science of Lviv Oblast and Bukovyna, had to evaluate the business idea of each student mini-company, how it was implemented, what products the young entrepreneurs make, how they promote it to the market, whether have successful sales and how convincingly they present their business project to the jury.
