Fire in Sambir: Fatality and Hospitalization

On April 15 at 12:30 PM, the Rescue Service ‘101’ received a report of a fire in the city of Sambir on V. Velykoho Street, Sambir District. The fire started in an apartment on the fourth floor of a five-story residential building.

Incident Details

Upon arrival, rescuers saw thick black smoke pouring out of the apartment windows. Residents reported that there might be a person inside the burning apartment.

During the firefighting operation, rescuers discovered an unconscious man in the apartment. They carried him outside, provided first aid, and handed him over to medical professionals, but he was pronounced dead. The deceased was the owner of the apartment, a man born in 1947.

As a result of the fire, the man’s wife, a woman born in 1952, was poisoned by smoke inhalation and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Sambir Central District Hospital.

Rescue Efforts

Due to heavy smoke, not all residents were able to leave the building on their own, so rescuers assisted one woman to exit.

By 12:54 PM, firefighters had localized the fire and by 1:10 PM, it was completely extinguished.
