“CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE IN UKRAINE”. AN INVISIBLE PASSENGER WAS DETECTED ON THE BORDER WITH POLAND
At the Shehyni checkpoint, border guards exposed a Ukrainian who was trying to illegally enter Poland by hiding.
A minibus Mercedes driven by a 24-year-old resident of Prykarpattia arrived at the checkpoint this morning. When the vehicle entered the territory of the checkpoint, the border guards checked the number of people and made a note in the control card that the driver was travelling to the neighbouring country alone.
However, during the inspection of the minibus, border guards also found a passenger hiding in a specially made niche for luggage. It turned out that the secret seat was occupied by a 28-year-old Ukrainian who had no documents for official border crossing.
The “secret” passenger was denied crossing the border and administrative documents were drawn up under Art. 204-1. The driver faces criminal liability under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine” for organising the illegal movement of persons across the border. The border guards informed law enforcement officers about the detected offence in accordance with the established procedure.
