A man suffered burns as a result of a fire in a basement, and rescuers brought 5 people out into the fresh air

On 25 November, at 01:11, the Rescue Service “101” received a report of a fire in the town of Stebnyk on Symonenko Street, Drohobych district. The fire broke out in the basement of a four-storey residential building.

Rescuers from Stebnyk, Truskavets and Drohobych were sent to the scene.

When the firefighters arrived at the scene, thick black smoke was coming out of the basement.

Due to the heavy smoke, the rescuers had to wear special respiratory and eye protection.

As a result of the smoke, the rescuers took 5 people out of the smoky building.

The fire also caused fourth-degree burns to the body of a man born in 1967, who was in the basement at the time of the fire. The injured man was taken to Drohobych City Hospital.

At 02:06, firefighters contained and at 02:26 extinguished a garbage fire in the basement over an area of 10 square metres.
